At the age of 16 Shaan Akash recorded a German Street Mixtape entitled ‘Schlaflose Nächte’ which translates to ‘Sleepless Nights’. With this he won a school talent
competition and from then on he knew he was born for the media, glamour and music. After finishing his studies, Shaan moved from Germany back to India for 6 months where he began to have music lessons from Ustaad Varinder Bachan Ji, a well known music director in the Punjabi music industry.
Shaan went on to release a single entitled ‘Badshah’ which featured German rapper, Summer Cem. This single was one of a kind which uniquely had three languages in it – German, Punjabi and Turkish! This was released by Sony Music Germany.
After the success of ‘Badshah’ Shaan met Bhangra star Nirmal Sidhu who pushed Shaan up in the Punjabi music industry.
‘Gabru Shokeen’ sang by Shaan Akash and produced by Nirmal Sidhu has been taken
from the mix album entitled ‘Khote Sikke’.
