Sukshinder Shinda exchanges a handshake and a few words with Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II
SUKSHINDER SHINDA at Buckingham Palace for the launch of the UK-India Year of Culture 2017
UK-based Punjabi singer and music producer Sukshinder Shinda, best known for songs like ‘Gal Sun Ja, ‘Khushian’ and the recent wedding anthem ‘Sehre Wala’ had the distinct honour of being invited to the launch of the UK-India 2017 Year of Culture reception at Buckingham Palace hosted by The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh on 27 February 2017. It is with immense pride and pleasure to have Punjabi music and culture represented in front of Her Majesty and other members of the Royal Family and to further cement cultural ties between the UK and India, in the 70th anniversary of India’s Independence. A glitterati of personalities were also present at Buckingham Palace including the jewel of Punjab, Gurdas Maan, Cricket legend great Kapil Dev, director Gurinder Chadha and musician Anoushka Shankar.
Sukshinder Shinda had the opportunity to exchange a handshake and a few words with Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, also had the honour to interact with Indian Finance Minister Arun Jaitley and the staff from the Indian High Commission during the historic event. With India’s national bird projected onto Buckingham Palace during the evening, the year-long programme of events and exhibitions taking place in both India and the UK aims to further strengthen cultural links between the two countries.
