MUSIC THAT GIVES charity live stream event 22nd May 2020
MUSIC THAT GIVES is a live online Asian music concert taking place on Friday 22nd May 2020 to raise vital funds for UK-based Food Banks. The inaugural concert, live-streaming from Birmingham, will feature globally renowned acts including B21 and DJ KROWN, with support from music legend Sukshinder Shinda. Launching ‘Music That Gives’, DJ KROWN, who came up with the concept, said “MUSIC THAT GIVES charity concert is about bringing together the musical talent within our community. We want to raise much-needed funds for the amazing charities and food banks that are helping vulnerable communities by doing what we love most.
I want this event to be the Asian community’s take on programmes such as Comic Relief/Children in Need and Live Aid concerts. The Coronavirus crisis has made us realise how important community and culture is to give back to those that are in need. As a former police officer, now full-time DJ, I have been volunteering with The Sikh Food Bank and I have seen the vast poverty in our society. I came up with this online concert to share amazing music with our fans in the lockdown, as well as promoting the great work of UK Food Banks, which we hope to raise a lot of money for.”
Sukshinder Shinda, award-winning British-Asian artist said: “I’m proud to support MUSIC THAT GIVES – a great initiative which will be showcasing British-Asian music and culture and fundraising for charity at the same time. Please give with an open heart and God Bless everyone through this coronavirus crisis.”
The online charity concert will be live streamed on Friday 22nd May from 7pm to 1am on Facebook and YouTube. • Charitable donations can be made online through – JustGiving.com/MusicThatGives OR via SMS “MUSICTHATGIVES” to 70450 to donate £10
