Nazar Na Lagey’ is well produced, Maz’s vocals are outstanding and the song is also reminiscent of his super hit, ‘Jaan’. ‘Yes, ‘Jaan’ did incredibly well for me, and many of my fans since then have been demanding another track on that kind of a vibe. So I guess this is a follow upto ‘Jaan’ but it is different in some ways too. I sing majority of ‘Nazar Na Lagey’ in Hindi / Urdu which I’ve not done before. Also, the song is produced by Irfan from Pakistan who I have worked with for the first time’ said Maz.
The visually stunning and very cinematic video which accompanies the song is also surprisingly Produced & Directed by Maz Bonafide himself.
Maz says
‘I really like to be hands on with my projects and Directing a video is something I always wanted to do. Sometimes you have a vision for a video and I guess the best way to make your vision a reality is to direct the video yourself. Directing the video as well as starring in it was challenging but i had fun. I’m really happy with the final result . The photography, concept and treatment of the video is stunning and takes the song to another level.
As part of the award winning duo ‘Bonafide’, Maz and his singing partner Ziggy have given us many smash hits over the years including ‘Feel it Sohniye, Only One, Memories (feat. Bilal Saeed), Ishq Hogaya, Galay Lag Ja and many more. Maz insists Bonafide have not split up ‘we’re working together as a duo but at the same time both of us are working on solo projects too. This gives our fans variety and it also gives us more options to experiment with different styles of music’.
