This October sees the release of a very different album from one of Bhangra music’s most respected artists. Singer songwriter K.S.Bhamrah of Apna Sangeet brings together a collection of dhamik geets and Shabads in a project which has been a very personal journey. With the message of selfless service, ‘Sewa Karni’ marks 35 years of K.S.Bhamrah within the world of Punjabi music and he shares his latest album with a social and religious message.
K.S.Bhamrah explains what his thoughts were in creating this project: “I have been very lucky to have had a wonderful career preforming and promoting Bhangra music. Throughout my years of making music and touring around the world I have always felt that it was my duty to stop and pay respects to the the almighty that has given us all the opportunity to serve for the betterment of mankind. I believe that Sewa Karni is one of the most important aspects in life. Be it Sewa for your family, community or religion it is something that we should all do and in this project i hope that i can share my thoughts on life and religion.”
All 8 musical pieces in the album ‘Sewa Karni’ have been composed, written (except Shabads) and produced by K.S.Bhamrah himself which, in itself, showcases the personal nature of the album. Supported by Satti Khokhewalia and his record label, the album will be accompanied by 8 videos and releasing worldwide on Friday 31st October 2014.
