The BBC Asian network has been searching for the next Bhangra Project superstar since Sept 2019 teaming up with three leading producers – Dr Zeus, Sevaqk and Vee Music – to find the next exciting star of Bhangra music. aspiring artists had the chance to submit there demos.
Three lucky finalists were chosen by the judges in November 2019 and each of them will be were given the opportunity to be paired with one of three prominent music producers. Dr Zeus, Vee Music and Sevaqk will each create an original track with their respective finalists, which the public will then vote on. The talent search will culminate in a live final on December 12th where the winning finalist will be chosen by Asian Network listeners. Voting will open on the Asian Network’s website on December 9th. The winner of The Bhangra Project will be given the chance to perform at an Asian Network event in 2020!
The Three finalist were:
(1) Justin Mall with his single titled ‘Desire’ produced by Vee,
(2) Kiran Rai single ‘Samunder’ produced by Dr Zeus
(3) Gugz Bhogal single ‘Gabaru’ produced by Sevaqk.
The crown winner via public voting was Gugz Bhogal with his single ‘Gabaru’ produced by Sevaqk.
