Whats Your Aim Of The Game?

What is the aim of  the game for these artist? Harpz journalist for Bhangrareleases.com was talking to a friend in the industry a few days ago and they both came to realize that realistically, there are very few people on the scene who are pursuing this career for the right reasons. What do I mean by that?

Basically, Harpz wanted to try and understand what the goal is for most artists and producers and whether or not they really mean it?

–          Why are they in this industry?

–          What does it mean to them?

–          Do they do this fulltime?

–          What’s the motive?

–          And where do they see themselves in the future?

The reason why Harpz asked this is because how can we be so sure that every artist is in it for the same goal? However I’m not quite sure what answers I’m looking for, because I don’t think I know what the right or wrong answer is myself to be honest. But I do know, that there are a handful of artists who only pick the path of music for the fame and the attention. (It can’t be the money because money isn’t very good in this game, so I’m told lol).

Why is it we have these odd few people who think by writing some lyrics that sound like a nursery rhyme, a beat that’s sampled from other tunes, a video that contains a so called model along with ten expensive cars and some bling, make them a superstar? I just don’t get it. And am sure am not the only one!

Now I’m most definitely not talking about ALL of them, as I said earlier there are a fair few that do it. But on the other hand we do have the odd bunch of people who take music very seriously and do nothing but music day in and day out. They have the passion for what they do and don’t always care about where they stand in the charts or how many downloads they’ve got or even how many fans they’ve got to be fair. They just graft hard because it’s what they love doing. But why can’t we see more of that?

Harpz asked the above questions to a couple of artists and producers within the industry who spoke with us here on BhangraReleases.com , just to see if I could find anything in common and whether or not they all think the same way. Do they have the same intention?

1.Why are u in this industry?

I love music. I’ve been writing & creating music since I was a kid. I didn’t set out to be part an industry as such, I just wanted to make music & share it with my target audience. Industry support & guidance allowed me to do that.

2.What does it mean to you?

It means a great deal. We have record labels that still continue to support artists despite minimal financial return from sales. We also have brilliant media & PR sources which allow us to share our music with the masses. It’s something we should be very proud of.

3. Do you do this fulltime?

Yes – but I do have other ventures too, I don’t believe in putting all my eggs in one basket, especially when the scope to make a good living from this is getting smaller & smaller for many artists.

4. What’s the motive?

The motive is to stay true to myself & make good quality music. I came into this game with that mind frame & it remains the same today.

5.Where do you see yourself in the future?

I really can’t answer that question. When I started releasing music 4 years ago, I never thought it would go as well as it has. I’m going to just keep making music & see what God has planned for me.

1. Why are you in this industry?

I’m in this industry simply coz of the fact that it accepted my music & understood my vision. It gave me a platform to showcase my fusion-based sound & I’m thankful that my work has been highly appreciated.

2. What does it mean to you?

Music is my life, I’m very passionate about it & always want to help the scene grow & give as much as I possibly can to help towards it. This is our scene so we have to look after it & surround it with positivity.

3. Do you do this full-time?

I am fortunate enough to do this full-time, i run my own studio “TaZzZ RecordingZ” & whenever I’m in the studio (which is like 24-7) I’m always counting my blessings. It’s an amazing feeling doing what you love the most every day.

4. What’s the motive?

Simple. To make my family & my people proud.

5. Where do you see yourself in the future?

I just take each day as it comes really, i leave the rest in god’s hands & i fully trust him & his judgment and let him lead the way on my journey, im just happy to have accomplished so much in very little time & hope to continue to do so.

 1. Why are you in this industry?

I’m in this industry to express my love of music in my way. Art (music) is a form of expression and each individual should express uniquely rather than copy.

2. What does it mean to you?

The fact that I can’t go a day without music means I love what I do. No pay cheque equals to this feeling.

3. Do you do this fulltime?

Yes I do this full time. You simply cannot excel in something if you come home tired from work. To give yourself the best chance, you must dedicate time on Riyaz (practice) which are the most important years in ones career; as is a degree.

4. What’s the motive?

My dad is a singer; he couldn’t pursue this as a career. I’m pursuing this as much as I am for him as I am for myself.

5. Where do you see yourself in the future?

No comment, lol. Reason being I don’t want to put pressure on my life by assuming where I will be. What will be will be.

Even though I managed to speak to a few artists within the industry, it seems like they’re all pretty screwed on and know what they want in return of their music. However, my point is, I couldn’t seem to find many people who were ready to say they didn’t do this fulltime and had other jobs aswel as pursuing a music career. I also didn’t manage to find anyone who said they were just doing music because they thought they’d just give it a shot.

Is it obvious when an artist is trying too hard to be a part of the game? Or are we just spending too much time analyzing other people’s lives rather than our own?
